PARADISE RANGERS
PARADISE RANGERS is a self-appointed park authority that guards the urban wilderness in the area of Paradis and Hillevåg along Sjøkanten in Stavanger.
Parkvesenet consists of visual artists Hans Edward Hammonds and Maiken Stene, and is an art project that combines performance, fieldwork and investigations of regulations surrounding the protection of nature in urban environments.
PARADISE RANGERS aims to build knowledge and develop new methods to help protect nature from undermining commercial and institutional interests.
PARADISE RANGERS is building an archive of videos, interventions, articles and interviews that problematize the role of nature in urban development. The archive will be a resource and an insight that provides a better understanding of the role of nature in the city, and how the bureaucratic processes of urban development work.
PARADISE RANGERS is a Velferden UTE project.
