Stefan Schröder (b. 1966, DE)

Stefan Schröder works with various artistic expressions such as drawing, photography, sculpture, installation and participatory art. He finds inspiration in encounters with people, places and stories, but also through materials and processes. Series of works over long periods characterize the artist's work process. Educated in construction and art, the artist explores the intersections between both fields. This has resulted in more than ten art commissions in Germany and Norway over the past 25 years. After completing his studies in painting and three-dimensional works in Breda (NL) in 1995, he started to include public spaces in his field of research, resulting in several installations and temporary art encounters.

Schröder is one of the founders of the Oslo-based artist-run space and art collective Tenthaus. His works are included in several public and private collections.

In 2024, Schröder participated in the two-week workshop SANDSKOLEN at Velferden.
